The buttons are held rather than tapped. Press and keep your finger down until the gold fills the whole circle, about two seconds, and you hear it land. Letting go early cancels it on purpose, so a moment is only recorded when you meant it.

On the home screen, tap the pencil under the main button, or go to Settings and choose Your commitments. You can rename them, remove ones that are not yours, and add your own.

Swipe left or right across the face of the main button and the next commitment takes its place. The dots underneath show where you are, and you can tap them to jump.

I Resisted is free to download, and free to use with all five commitments and every feature available until you have recorded 25 moments across three separate days. After that, a single payment of €4.99 keeps the app and everything already in it, with no limit on the moments you record. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and there is nothing else to buy.

Open Settings and choose Restore Purchases, and it will come back as long as you are signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you bought it with. The app also checks quietly each time it opens, so it usually restores itself without you doing anything.

The most common cause is being signed into a different store account from the one that made the purchase. It is worth checking that first. If you are online, on the right account and it still cannot find it, email us and we will help.

Everything is stored on the device itself, so it does not travel automatically. On iPhone, an encrypted device backup restored to a new phone brings it across. On Android the record is deliberately kept out of Google backups — that is what lets us say nothing about it leaves your phone — so a new Android phone starts with a fresh record. Your purchase always restores, either way.

It counts days in a row on which you recorded at least one resisted moment, across all your commitments. A day you have not touched yet does not break it — the day is not over until it is over.

Settings, then Reset history and commitments. It clears everything you have recorded and puts your commitments back to the defaults. It cannot be undone, so it asks first.
